Mission Statement, Vision & School Values
Following feedback from a whole-school survey, members of our Spiritual Council have rewritten our Mission Statement for 2026–27.
The Spiritual Council comprises pupils from Years 1 to 6, who worked together to create a shared vision for how they would like our school to grow and develop. Through consultation with our entire school community - including children, staff, parents and governors - the new Mission Statement reflects our shared views, values and aspirations.
Mission Statement

Vision
Our school vision is: Let Your Light Shine (Matthew 5:16)
‘Let your light shine’ incorporates three fundamental elements:
~ The light of the Gospel message of Jesus
~ The light of individual talents
~ The light of learning
School Values
Gospel Values influence every aspect of school life so that together we can enable every child’s spiritual, moral, academic and social development to flourish.
Our school values underpin our curriculum and allow our pupils to build a deep and meaningful understanding of the Gospel Values and also the values that Britain supports. They are:
Compassion, Diversity, Respect, Courage, Responsibility and Freedom
Each term, we focus on one value and make links between this and all aspects of the children's spiritual and educational development. As a school community, we focus on each value as follows:
Term 1: Courage
Term 2: Respect
Term 3: Responsibility
Term 4: Compassion
Term 5: Diversity
Term 6: Freedom
Mission in Action
Our Mission Statement was created through consultation with pupils, staff, governors and parents and reflects the shared vision of our school community.
We believe that a mission statement should be lived, not simply displayed.
How Our Mission Makes a Difference
As a result of living our mission:
- pupils confidently explain what "Let Your Light Shine" means;
- pupils take leadership roles within the life of the school;
- pupils support local and global charities;
- pupils recognise their responsibility to care for God's creation;
- pupils show respect, compassion and service in their daily lives;
- pupils understand how Gospel values influence their choices and actions.
